URPA Juniors Pickleball Program

Participants

  • Youth Ages 8-18, Skill Levels 2.0 – 4.5

    (A player’s age for the entire year shall be determined by his/her age on December 31st of the year in question)

Recreation Agencies

  • Recreation agencies encouraged to run late-spring early-summer youth pickleball programming

    (May include camps/clinics/leagues/etc.)

  • Recreation agencies will facilitate opportunities for youth to compete and help them identify their skill level
State Tournaments

A State Challenge Tournament will be held for all interested players from the four URPA Regions (North, Wasatch, Central, and South).

  • Skill Levels 2.0 - 4.5 , with boys, girls, and mixed events will be offered.
  • In some cases, divisions may have to be combined but will be awarded separately.
  • State tournaments will be round robin.

Gold medalists from the State Tournament in each division will be given free registration to the Jr's tournament division of their skill level at the Juniors Tournament of Champions in Brigham City in August. 2.0 - 4.5 skill levels will be offered in both Doubles and Singles.

Juniors ToC divisions will be round robin for 2.0-2.5 and double elimination for 3.0-4.5

Post High-School scholarships will be awarded to top medalists for 3.0+ pools with 8 or more teams in their bracket.

Tournament of Champions

The 2.0 - 2.5 tournament structure is built to focus on player experience. Tournament format will be a round robin to maximize the amount of play with a focus on sportsmanship, positivity, and fun. Referees will be hand-selected locals that will keep the games fair, but will also support the players' needs, helping their matches to be successful and enjoyable experiences.

3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 junior's divisions will be a double elimination format where Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists will be awarded scholarship funds from the American Dream Foundation that will be held in a foundation and available for use for post-secondary education opportunities in the players' futures.

John A. Gullo Scholarship Program

The American Dream Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the John A. Gullo Junior Pickleball Scholarship Program.

This August, as part of the Tournament of Champions, Junior Competition. The American Dream Foundation approved scholarship funding for all medalists in 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 juniors doubles divisions.

Scholarship funds will be held in the foundation and will be available for use for post-secondary education opportunities in the players' futures.
