The Utah Water Conservation Forum's fall tour will be September 21, 2005.
This year the group will meet at the Jordan Valley Conservation District parking lot on the southwest side by the demonstration garden at 8:00 a.m. The address is 8215 S. 1300 W. in West Jordan.
Tour transportation will be provided at this location.
WEAR CLOSED TOE SHOES - no sandals please due to mine safety policy.
The agenda is as follows:
8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Jordan Valley Conservation District
8:30 a.m. - Depart Jordan Valley Conservation District for the Kennecott Mine operation. The tour will start at the visitor center at the main mine then proceed to various locations on the property to include the zero discharge and east side collection area, the precipitation plant, the reverse osmosis facility and points in between. The tour will then proceed to Daybreak for an overview of their community.
12:00 noon - box lunches and drinks will be served at one of the Daybreak Parks.
1:00 p.m. - the tour will leave Daybreak and move to Sego Lily and finish at Southtown Mall around 4:30 p.m. or so.
Everyone will be brought back to Jordan Valley to their vehicles.
Cost is $35.00 per member of UWCF. Non-members may join the forum and take the tour for $65.00. Two (2) persons per government/business membership may attend free.
